Do not underestimate the power of a professional email signature (most do not even have one, or they have very boring ones).

The email signature should be filled in with some relevant details to catch the potential employer’s attention and earn yourself some credits for successful branding.

Good email signatures for college students can be a great touch point in an email. If you add some extra contact details and a website link with your resume, it will make you look more professional.

Your email signature should be professional and yes, personal, but not overloaded with unnecessary personal details.
·      Your full name
·      Your year of study and major
·      The name of your college or university
·      Clear key contact details – your main telephone number and your email address

Or

First Name, Last Name
School Name, Expected Graduation Year
Major/Minor (Note: Only include if it’s relevant)
Phone Number
Email

Pasted below is my email signature. Yes, it is entirely too long, but I also need to control my brand more so than people in other professions. Otherwise, enrollment in our program can go down.

I have had multiple managers tell me that a sharp email signature always catches their eye and they tend to look at the job candidate more deeply as a result. Most students within the same major often have VERY similar hard skills and pretty similar soft skills, so managers are always pulled in by what they perceive as a differentiating factor (and it could be as simple as a well thought out email signature).

How to set up the post script on your smart phones for email replies…
https://lnkd.in/eN8sUfsC

I am noticing that several students & working professionals are responding to my emails via smart phones. That is fine. But, I would recommend programming your phone so that the post script tells the recipient of your message that it was sent from your smart phone. That way people will be less judgmental if a mistake was made.
