The Great Resignation turns to the Great Regret as worker needs are not being met, expert says.

Why are people quitting their jobs (globally)? I posted this last week & it received LOTS of views. Is there a LEADERSHIP void? After thousands of students, I would say this is the #1 reason my students change jobs (it's their boss). Money becomes a factor when they can make > 20% elsewhere (#2 on list below). FYI: Our students can major in Leadership (https://lnkd.in/e5JUSye). It can actually be taught,...

The most important part of your long term earning potential is not what your starting salary is, but what your resume will look like 3-5 years from now.

Should current students negotiate an INTERNSHIP offer (i.e., a higher salary)? Yes, since many orgs are offering students 20-30% below market value. The avg supply chain internship is $44,918/yr, or $21.6/hr. People on the lower end, bottom 10%, make $37K/yr ($17.80/hr), while the top 10% makes $54K ($25.96/hr).  Open internships (>400) in MI, postings - https://lnkd.in/gVsHEZxz & 3,000+ nationally - https://lnkd.in/gRKmr7QE. What are they looking for? SCM majors. Perhaps delay graduation for work experience & stay specialized...https://lnkd.in/gdr7f9wb...

Quote from former student: “I went into Indirect Procurement thinking it would not be very glamorous but I save them lots of money every day”. That sounds glamorous to me. LinkedIn has > 20,000 unfilled Indirect Procurement jobs & > 8,000 MRO buyer jobs. America has around 11M jobs not filled, most of which are in SCM. https://lnkd.in/ecdDMYQhttps://lnkd.in/gmcxKNsihttps://lnkd.in/g6BiXz8c I would watch this first beginning at the 12:15 mark:https://lnkd.in/gYp-As9D Do not be afraid of...

Recessions tend to be very bad for college grads. However...The number of job openings fell for the 3rd straight month to 10.698M in June which is the lowest since 10.629M in August 2021 (off the record high of 11.855 million in March). That means there are only (sarcasm) around 11,000,000 unfilled jobs. That’s a recession?! College grads, worry not (for now, not even close). For students, the prospects are great, but...

I have had several people ask me about “Industry 4.0” or “Supply Chain 4.0” or “Digitization” of the Supply Chain. https://lnkd.in/eZfHNqy.
